Intern, focus: Communications
Monrovia, Liberia

The position is to be filled as soon as possible with a contract duration of six months. Em-ployment location will be Monrovia with frequent travel to the project sites.

Aims and duties of the role

As Communications Intern, you will support the Welthungerhilfe team in Liberia with all Communications related tasks. You will get the opportunity to propose your own ideas and take the lead in some projects.

Your most important duties:

 design and manage the Welthungerhilfe Liberia Country Office Facebook-Page
 manage the internal Welthungerhilfe Liberia Landing Page and internal Welthun-gerhilfe Blog within Office 365
 visit the project sites and write stories about the projects and beneficiaries for inter-nal and external use
 conduct interviews with beneficiaries
 develop PR/visibility material, i.e. publicity brochures, promotional flyers
 support the organization of PR and internal events such as conferences and visits from donors and journalists
 set up a media contact database, a mailing lists, photo archive

As a qualified applicant you:

 are currently enrolled or recently graduated from a polytechnic or university, prefera-bly in the field of public relations / communications / journalism
 already gained some practical experience in the field of communications and/or de-velopment cooperation
 enjoy working independently as well as in a team
 possess excellent communication skills
 are motivated to work in an international context
 possess a very good command of English and German, both spoken and written
