The Senior Manager (f/m) Communication, PR & Social Media is, as part of the Marketing, Communication and E-Commerce team, responsible for the full PR, Promotion and Communication strategy of NH Hotel Group within the Business Unit Central Europe. In this position, you are responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the organization’s communication, and public relations activities for the Business Unit Central Europe.

The position is located in Berlin with availability to travel. The Senior Manager (f/m) Communication, PR & Social Media reports to the Marketing Director of Business Unit Central Europe and has a dotted line to the SVP Communication, Social Networks and Corporate Affairs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for creating, implementing and managing a strategic communication and public relations program that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR campaigns, promotions, events and news stories for the brand, working closely together with the Marketing and E-Commerce colleagues.
  • Ensure articulation of the organization’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the organization.
  • Identify non-spot and editorial opportunities for NH Hotel Group in national and regional media (on-line, radio, TV, print), leveraging existing relations / deals and actively setting up new partnerships.
  • Ensure the key brand attributes of NH Hotel Group are translated into creative (PR) concepts.
  • Act as the organization’s representative with the media and build relationships as well as brand awareness with trade partners, media partners, key journalists, bloggers, trade press and influencers in general.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, production and distribution of all organization publications.
  • Responsible for the achievement and measurement of the success of communication/public relations mission and goals; monitor progress and evaluate performance.
  • Take ownership of the PR / Communication budget, managing the assigned budget and proposing the right resources for fulfilling the required business plans and targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree on Bachelor/Master Level in journalism, public relations or communication studies.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related experience as well as working with global teams in an international environment.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
  • A strong personal network within the media landscape.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Mastering Microsoft Office tools (Word, PPT, Excel and most common systems).
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrable experience driving external communication functions (e.g. contacts with journalists, external promotion campaigns, media partnerships etc.).
  • A proactive, motivated, analytical, adaptable and enthusiastic attitude with outstanding presentation, organizational and communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic and fast environment with a pro-active and practical approach.
  • Capability to face new professional challenges and re-invent oneself on an ongoing basis.
  • A creative approach towards PR, in which various tools, channels and concepts are being utilized to complement well executed traditional PR.
  • Strong social skills and unlimited enthusiasm to inspire journalists, stakeholders, influencers and potential partners to become ambassadors for the brand.
  • Knowledge of business and leisure travel and / or experience gained within a multi-national marketing environment and in consumer PR will be considered a plus.
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task in a driven manner.
  • An exceptional team player, able to motivate and support others.
