General information

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Wacom social media communities (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Linkedin etc.) in terms of growth and engagement. This includes not only long- and mid-term strategy development, but also monitoring and evaluation systems. It also includes the development and fostering of lead generation tools in cooperation with the eStore and eMarketing. The Social Media Manager is also responsible for developing and executing a sustainable Ambassador Management strategy with a top priority focus on content creation. The goal of this position is not only to collect fans but to establish lead nurturing and with that support of the sales targets, based on developing and publishing relevant content according to the goals and briefings of the business units within Wacom.

Key responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute content marketing strategies along the business units’ briefings and in cooperation with the Marketing Center Team, including development of 3rd party cooperations and initiatives as well as re-marketing concepts.
  2. Develop content calendars for the various social media channels including the EMEA community (Info-Channel); manage and supervise the social media agencies involved.
  3. Manage and develop social media monitoring services, analysis, evaluation and reporting; including management of involved service partners
  4. Supervise Web Care for owned channels (Facebook, YouTube, eStore) and develop action plans accordingly.
  5. Develop, manage and coordinate social media campaigns based on business units’ briefings and in close collaboration with the Marketing Center Team.
  6. Develop, offer and manage campaigns / postings with regional geographic impact for local sales initiatives.
  7. Regular market screening for competition, online trends or innovative concepts and benchmark analysis
  8. Monitor budget for social media and cross media campaigns
  9. Develop and execute the regional Ambassador Management strategy
  10. Establish continuous commincation tools for Amabassadors as well as a continuous stream of content

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

Growth, share of voice, engagement rate and quality (tone of voice in the comments) of the own social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, linkedin, Info-Channel, pinterest etc.)

Conversion from sales opportunities and social campaigns (business units initiatives) in terms of generated leads.

Develop and provide a social media dashboard with actual analysis, monitoring and social sentiment.

Support and be part of the global social media team development.

Establish close relations to the business units to provide counselling and be invited to strategy development processes.

Growth of available content from Ambassadors as well as growth of Ambassador integration in Wacom events and campaigns

Job requirements

  1. Skills and experience
  • Expert in social media and new end-user interaction technologies
  • Track record in Community Management (own social media) and content marketing, incl re-marketing
  • Editorial skills and experience in setting up a strategic content plan (editorial calender) according to the various social media channels available and according to the overall campaigns and launches
  • Global, creative, positive thinker (out of the box), open to new ideas and experiments
  • Very good analytical skills and self driven evaluation of decisions and actions to organize a continuous optimization process
  • Problem solver, team player, able to take on project management responsibility in global sub-teams
  • Understanding how to attribute to and implement strategy
  • Good communicator
  • Fluent in English language
  • At least 5-7 years of experience, preferably from corporations and agencies

  • Bachelor (‘Fachhochschule’) or University degree on Marketing or MBA or equal by experience
